Adventure trekking in Paznaun

Exploring new horizons

Nowhere else do the calm of the mountains and the thrill of the wild blend as seamlessly as around the Hotel Seespitz in Ischgl.

You already know every curve of the perfectly groomed slopes of the Silvretta Arena. The winter hiking trails in Paznaun? You’ve covered nearly all of them. Tobogganing and ice skating? It’s been a long time since they’ve given you that thrill – the one you’ve been missing.
You’re after something more. More than Ischgl. A journey that stirs your sense of adventure.
The Hotel Seespitz is where that journey begins – in a space defined by style, ease, and indulgence. From here, you head into the untamed beauty of the Tyrolean Alps. Among their rugged peaks, crystal-clear Alpine lakes, and hidden trails, you set off to discover new horizons. In a world of wildness and freedom. A place where you feel completely present. Where you can test your limits – and surpass them.

Take a look at these three adventure treks in Paznaun to get you started.

#1: Silvretta Loop Hike – high mountain adventure at its best
Multi-day hike | 7 days | difficult
The Silvretta Circuit is one of the most breathtaking long-distance hikes in the Alps. This high-altitude loop takes you across Alpine passes, along glaciers, and past deep blue mountain lakes, with cosy nights spent in rustic mountain huts. The highlight? An unforgettable view of the 3,312-metre peak of Piz Buin.

#2: Lake Madleinsee – the bliss of solitude
Day hike | approx. 5–6 hours | moderately difficult
In a quiet side valley near Ischgl at 2,437 metres above sea level, Lake Madleinsee lies in silence and solitude, surrounded only by rocks. The way there starts from the valley station of the Silvrettabahn cable car and leads along stony paths through the Madleintal. If you’re lucky, you might just spot a marmot or two along the way.

#3: Friedrichshafener mountain hut – sunrise over Paznaun
One or two-day tour | 2–6 hours depending on route | medium
A fan favourite, with the option to stay overnight. The trail to the Friedrichshafener mountain hut is a challenge worth every step. Perched at 2,138 metres above sea level, the hut offers sweeping views of the entire valley. Start early and you’ll be treated to a sunrise you won’t soon forget – nature’s light show at its finest.
